Keiton null Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 1, 2024.
Keiton, AKA, Sweet Keits, 19 years old, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 26, 2024. Born on October 6, 2004, Keiton lived his entire life in Anchorage, Alaska, with his loving mom Keila Huelle.
Keiton was born with a 3p Chromosome deletion and not expected to live very long. In general, the chromosome deletion affected Keiton globally, primarily impacting his cognitive functioning, both gross and fine motor functioning, causing vision and hearing impairments as well as a severe seizure disorder.
From Keiton's first day of life, he was a warrior! He displayed an amazing will to live despite all his physical and medical challenges. For many years Keiton was in and out of the hospital, attended weekly Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Therapy appointments. For a brief time, he attended an intensive special needs pre-school/Kindergarten program. His mother had sole custody in which she created a loving and comfortable environment at home while providing creative ways to help him develop as much as possible. As Keiton's seizure disorder progressed, Keiton became home bound and required 24/7 supervision by his mother and in-home care provider Ms. Debbie.
Although Keiton was non-ambulatory, non-verbal and battled frequent grand mal seizures, he had a dynamic personality. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and exuded joy! On his "good" days he would have moments of non-stop giggles, loved his chewy tube, listened to his mom sing silly songs, listen to worship music, watched his favorite Baby Newton video, played with bright light up toys, had lots of self-stimulating actions, did hollow rocks and sat himself up, communicated with loud vocalizations, loved to eat, and snuggle with his momma! He was a character and probably understood more than we ever knew!
For 19 years Keiton was provided with routine and constant one on one care that over time, allowed him to anticipate what was about to happen. Mealtimes were highlights of the day! Many times, professionals suggested he be put on a feeding tube, but his mom, private therapists and in-home care providers worked hard to teach him how to drink out of a straw and eat orally. It was a treasured time for both him and his mom.
Throughout Keiton's life he made a memorable impact on anyone who took the time to interact with him. From doctors, nurses and therapists to family, friends in Christ and care providers, we all became better people from knowing him.
Keiton showed and taught us that all life matters. Keiton was a living example that all God's creations are perfect and that we all have a purpose if we're willing to be open to what God has for us. Keiton lived his best life and displayed joy through all his suffering.
At age 10 and after suffering 3 status seizures in a short time frame, doctors told his mom that he would probably pass away any day due to the severity of his seizures. His mom told doctors that only God knows when he'd bring Keiton home to Heaven. Keiton defied all odds for 19 years!
His life was filled with many miracles as well. He was our little "Mystery Man" and so many things could only be explained by acknowledging God's hand in it. One of the most amazing miracles was when Keiton started saying "mom" when he turned 19 despite him being non-verbal up until that point!
We are rejoicing that Keiton is now WHOLE! He is with our Lord and Savior, free from seizures, illness and suffering. Please join us on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00am at Mountain City Church in Anchorage, Alaska, for his CELEBRATION OF LIFE! A reception will be held at the same location immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions for Keiton's celebration of life would be appreciated.

Dearest Keila, our hearts are both sad and joyful to hear about Keiton´s `graduation´. I am just imagining the joy he is experiencing to have a perfect body and to finally be able to fully communicate all the beautiful words of love and praise that we know were stored up in his heart, awaiting the release of all that held them back in his broken body. We send our love and will be praying for you as you adjust to the gaping hole his departure leaves in your days. We love you! Steve and Deanna Holsinger

I didn´t know Keaton, but this is one of the most beautiful things I have read to honor someone so loved. Rest Easy Keiton, for your job on earth is done. Much love and highest respect and regard to all who have loved him and continue to love him.
