Kellie Maureen Hughes Nelson

Kellie Maureen Hughes Nelson (Creech), 52, passed away peacefully on December 27, following a year-and-a-half battle with cancer, while holding her husband's hand.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Kellie later planted her roots in West Virginia. She was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, whose faith never wavered-even through her courageous battle with cancer.

Kellie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Golda Creech.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Nelson; her mother, Linda Creech of Centerville, Ohio; her daughter, Amber Creech (Doug); her sons, Damian Bettenger (Tisha) and Codey Bettenger (Bryley); her eleven grandchildren; her sister, Jennie Creech; her nieces, Amanda and Star; her nephew, Shane; many aunts and uncles and her best friend Jessica Hughes.

Services will be held 11 am Thursday January 8th at McClure-Scahfer-Lankford Funeral Home, with visitation from 9am to 11 am. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.

A special message to her children: Kellie loved you deeply and was truly happy and blessed to see the adults you have become. She was incredibly proud of you-never doubt for a single moment that you were anything less than cherished.
