Kellie Ward Obituary
She was born on June 6, 1962, in Galesburg, Illinois to Leon Haneghan and Patricia (Smith) Haneghan. She married Rick Ward on March 22, 2011, in Henry County.
Surviving is her husband, Rick Ward of Alpha, Illinois; her children, Cory (Kari) Haneghan of Galesburg, Illinois, Mandy (Shane) Sanders of Woodhull, Illinois, Amber (Jason) Haneghan of Clinton, Iowa, Mark (Charnisha) Simmons of Bloomington, Illinois, and Luke Faley of Bloomington, Illinois; six grandchildren, Brayden, Brycen, Kylie, Ethan, Aleah, and Joseph. Four siblings, Tami (Mike) Lawson of Galesburg, Illinois, Cathy (Lindel) Marsh of Geneseo, Illinois Wendy (Dave) Hess of Galesburg, Illinois, and Kevin Haneghan of Galesburg, Illinois, and a special niece Tiffany Haneghan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kellie graduated from Knoxville Highschool. She had a passion for cooking and baking, which led her to become a baker, always making everyone's birthday cakes. She loved to bake for her family. Her rule of thumb was that no one was allowed to leave her house with an empty stomach. She loved listening to music, was a die hard Cubs fan and loved fishing. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandkids. She was the kindest woman, with the biggest heart. Kellie will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 31 at the Alpha American Legion. Burial will be held at a later date at the Alpha Cemetery. On-line condolences or expressions of sympathy may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhomes.com
