Kelsey LeAnn Haddix, age 35, of Grosse Ile, Michigan passed away peacefully at her home on Grosse Ile, Tuesday May 20, 2025, with her mother and father by her side. Kelsey was born August 13, 1989. Kelsey is survived by her parents Keith Haddix Jr and Laura (Lorenz) Haddix from Grosse Ile, MI. Kelsey is survived by her brothers Keith III (Kari) Haddix of Trenton, Drew Haddix of Grosse Ile and four nieces and nephews, Keith IV, Knox, Layla and James; her maternal grandmother, Gena Lorenz, of Trenton, and paternal grandmother Catherine Haddix, of Monroe, as well as many family members.
At age 4, Kelsey was diagnosed with a brain tumor which she battled valiantly for 32 years. Kelsey attended Grosse Ile Schools and Jo Brighton Skills Center graduating in 2015. Kelsey became involved in the Arkay program, a day program for adults with special needs. During her time there she made many friends and participated in Special Olympics. Bowling was her favorite sport. For the past 4 years Kelsey lived at Devonshire House, an adult special needs living arrangement with 3 roommates and a dedicated staff.
Kelsey liked collecting friends and 1-dollar bills! She loved dining out with her dad at local restaurants, and at the Grosse Ile Yacht Club, where members and staff would welcome her and listen intently to her dog stories. She was determined, feisty and funny. Kelsey was a shining star who touched everyone she came in contact with. She will be missed beyond words.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Kelsey may be made directly to the family to be put towards a future scholarship fund.
