John Kenneth (Ken) Bundschu, age 76, died peacefully on February 7, 2024.
A Chattanooga native, he was the son of the late Robert de Tavernier Bundschu and the late Anne Farmer Bundschu Groves. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Jacob H. Groves, and brother, Vincent Bundschu.
He is survived by his sisters, Martha Bundschu Malone (Bruce), Therese Bundschu Hughes (Tom), Anne Bundschu Humphreys (Mal), nephews, Paul Hughes, Robert Hughes, and grandnephew, Leo Hughes.
Ken was of the Catholic faith. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and received a Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Chattanooga. He was employed for many years by the State of Georgia as a medical lab inspector. He retired in 2000.
An avid outdoorsman, Ken enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and had many friends, some dating back to childhood. He was a kind soul who enjoyed his solitude looking out at his woods and listening to jazz.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 am on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 501 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN 37412. A Celebration of Life Mass will follow at 11:30 am at the church. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers you may send donations to Hearth Hospice, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church or the organization of your choice.
