Kenneth Jordan "Ken" Wood, 91, husband of the late Mary Evelyn Burry Wood, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
Mr. Wood was born in Greenville to the late Winslow Smith Wood and Madge Jeanette Jordan Wood. He was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, the Thornblade Club, and the James E. Daniel Post #3 of the American Legion. He was a veteran of the US Army. Ken was an alumnus of Clemson University and a Life Member of IPTAY and served on the Foundation Board for the university. He was the founder of Controls Service Company of SC and a member of the SC & NC Engineers Society and the National Society of Professional Engineers. Ken served on the Board of Directors for the Bi-Lo Center between 1998 – 2004. He also served on the Greenville Arena Board, the Child Evangelism Board, and the Board of Well Projects for Kenya, Africa. He worked several years in the mediation department of Harvard University. Ken was an avid golfer and enjoyed travel with Evelyn during their 60 years of marriage.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joe Wood; and two sisters, Elizabeth Wood and Peggy Garrett.
A celebration of Ken's life will begin at 12 noon Saturday at Fletcher Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
