Kendall Stone Kent, a shining spirit whose light was extinguished far too soon, departed this world on October 21, 2025, at the tender age of twenty-five. Born on February 3, 2000, Stone embraced life with vigor and an enduring passion that resonated with all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Stone’s vibrant presence will forever be cherished by his beloved daughter, Alaina Kent, who was a source of immense joy and inspiration for him. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted mother, Heather H. Kent, and his grandparents, Mike and Barbara Hartley, alongside his adoring grandmother, Brenda Byram. The familial bonds that enrich our lives will continue to hold those who remain close to Kendall — including his siblings, Sadie Hammock (Luke), Hank Kent (Kayla), Gage Kent (Amanda), and Brittney Kent — who carry with them the shared memories that he inspired.
Stone’s memory stretches further, encapsulated in the playful innocence of his niece and nephew, Hartley Bell Ledbetter and Michael Ledbetter, and surrounded by a constellation of aunts— Shelly Carswell, Lisa Luster, Jerika Lamb, Jessica Rumyantsev (Sergey), and Jennifer Hensley—who adored him with unwavering affection. He leaves behind numerous other family members and friends, each touched by the strength of his character and his unique personality.
While his departure casts a shadow over many hearts, we hold steadfast the memories of those we have lost. Stone is preceded in death by his father, Shane Kent, his grandmother, Mary Kent, and his grandfather, James Kent. It is through these connections that we can continue to honor his life.
In honor of Stone, a memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home in Tallassee, Alabama, where all are invited to partake in reflection and remembrance of the profound impact he made. Following this, a Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 AM, allowing friends and family to come together and commemorate the essence of his life.
As we navigate through the complexities of this loss, may we find solace in the legacy that Kendall Stone Kent leaves behind. In our hearts, his memory shall endure, and it is through the stories we tell of him that he will continue to live on.
