BEVERLY – Ms. Kendra (Wheatley) Bethune, 74, of Beverly, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her loving family. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was raised in the Salvation Army by parents Kenneth and Barbara (Munkittrick) Wheatley who were lifelong officers. She graduated from Roxborough High School in Philadelphia. Kendra continued her education at the former Beaver College in Pennsylvania. Forever a patient and kind soul, she dedicated her life to service and helping others in both her household and throughout her life. She always exuded peace and tranquility to those around her. In the 1980s, she worked at Essex Aggie at the cooperative extension as well as Extended Day Care at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in Danvers. She later worked at Danvers High School as an assistant to the Guidance Counselors for many years until the time of her retirement. A woman of many talents, Kendra had great skills in Arts and Crafts. Her effortless artistic ability to craft anything through sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, handmade cards and holiday treasures are gifts and legacies that will live on within her family. A longtime resident of the Town of Danvers, Kendra was a member of the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church where she dedicated many years teaching Sunday school. She later attended and taught at the Union Congregational Church in Magnolia. She was devoted to her beloved Red Sox and was Mookie's #1 Fan. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Kendra is survived by her sons, David Bethune and his wife Maria of Peabody and Randall Bethune and his fiancé Sandra of Laguna Hills, CA, her grandchildren, Hannah, Wil, Madison, Jack, Luke, Sam and Ben, her sister, Barbara H. Werkley of Noblesville, IN and many close family and friends. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kendra's funeral service which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte. 62) Danvers on Monday, September 10th at 6 P.M.
