Her smile... Love you Kenita
Gary Kunich
March 22, 2024
Everyone who knew Kenita is devastated because to everyone, Kenita made you feel like a best friend. She and I spoke almost every day at work -- sometimes just to help each other make sense of some of the crazy things going on around us. I could count on Kenita to not just be a voice of reason, but someone who could give and take -- not afraid to share her opinion or push back when something was unrealistic, and not afraid to compromise to get work pushed forward.
She was undeniably an outstanding communicator and one of the best in our business and gave so much of herself, so selflessly.
My only consolation is knowing Heaven is real and she is there, and now she knows how everyone truly feels about her. She is missed and will never be forgotten. I am a better person for knowing her and calling her a friend.

Sending my sincerest condolences to Kenita's family and friends. I am terribly sadden by her passing. She was an extraordinary communications specialist at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She managed very high-level media inquiries and was excellent at her job. She was truly a consummate professional, always patient an kind in all of her interactions. Kenita will be greatly missed.

Kenita was so full of life. She radiated positive energy and always had a beautiful smile. I am so saddened by the news and it hurts so badly. I am praying for the family and friends. The only comfort is knowing that Heaven gained a beautiful and kind angel.
Rest in Heaven,
Daphnee U.

I am deeply saddened and distraught by this loss. Kenita was smart, well spoken and driven. While I was not in her inner circle, we had a connection hence we engaged in a few work intellectual conversations in person and telephonically.
We shared the same birthday so we exchanged birthday gifts. Kenita transitioned on my son´s birthday. Thus, I will never forget those symbolic dates. I am grateful to have known her.
I pray that her family and friends find comfort in knowing that Kenita was the epitome of class and work place excellence. Her legacy will remain with those of us who knew her and worked with her.
With absolute sorrow,
June Halstead-Cox United States Army Veteran
