Wilson Park Funeral Home - RochesterKenneth L. Ash, 78, of Springfield, passed away on March 10, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Ken was born in Dowagiac, MI, on November 30, 1947, the son of Charles LaVern and Olive Ash. He was raised by his father and step mother, Cordelia, after Olive’s passing. He married Colette McArdle on April 21, 1975. Ken was a proud US Air Force Veteran, retiring after 20 years and being disabled due to Agent Orange exposure. He was a member of VFW Post 755 and UTAPAU Reunions. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Barb, Bud, Mick and Bill.
Ken is survived by his wife, Colette; daughter, Stephanie Ash; two sons, Andrew and Joshua Ash; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:00AM where there Inter Veterans Burial Detail will conduct military honors.
Wilson Park Funeral Home in Rochester is in charge of arrangements.
