Kenneth Bach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heer Mortuaries & Crematory - Brush on Jan. 20, 2025.
Ken was born in Denver, Colorado. His parents were James Brian Bach and Nellie Celeste Case-Bach. In Ken's early years, he grew up on the Bach family farm near Hillrose, Colorado. He had a sister, Betty Ann Bach and a foster brother, Albert Eugene Dague. Ken graduated from Brush High School in 1949, and later attended Barnes Business College, then CSU for 1 year. Ken later met Virginia Lucero and got married. They had three daughters, Barbara, Donna, and Denise.
Ken spent several years in sales of building materials in Fort Morgan, South Dakota, Utah, Grand Junction, and Brush, then spent 4 years farming with his father. From 1965-1972, he worked for the Morgan County Assessor's office. From there Ken worked in real estate sales, then as a real estate appraiser. He was a partner with Amsberry-Bach-Elson Realty of Brush. Ken and Virginia divorced in 1978. During his appraisal career, he met LaCorda (Corky) Ann Balmer-Godfrey and they later married in 1981. Two years later Ken and Corky relocated to Denver, where they both continued their careers as appraisers. In 1985, they started their own appraisal business. During this time, Ken was appointed to the Colorado Board of Assessment Appeals and served one term. Corky passed away in February 2012. Within a few months after her passing he moved back to Brush where he remained closer to his family.
Ken enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. His dearest friend was the late Joe Cortez, who passed away in 1993. He enjoyed fishing a lot and in his later years, he enjoyed playing Bridge and Pinochle at the Senior Center in Fort Morgan and dancing in Sterling on Saturday nights.
Ken is preceded in death by his wife, parents, his sister, and his foster brother.
He is survived by his daughters Barbara Alley, Donna Tavenner (Lisa Fitzgerald), Denise Dulaney; his step-daughters, Kim (Ray) Johnson, Kerrie Godfrey, Jen (Dave) O'Hare; his step-son, Ben Godfrey; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Friday January 24th, 2025 at 2pm at the Brush Cemetery, followed by a gathering for family and friends at the Jaycee building in Brush.
