K. Vance Bates, of Lake Ann, passed away Setpember 11, 2024 at the age of 69. A celebratrion of Vance's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27, at Benzie Central High School Auditorium. Visitation begins at 11:30 a.m. until the service. Arrangements with Jowett Family Funeral Home.

Vance hired me when I first moved to the area in 96, stayed at Benzie for 7 1/2 years working as a Detective and the. A good Sheriff to work for, will be missed.
