Kenneth Boydstun Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fletcher Funeral Home on Sep. 2, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Allen Boydstun, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who departed this world, surrounded by family, on September 1, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 63.
Ken was born on July 24, 1962, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He grew up surrounded by the love of his family and friends, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to those he cherished.
Ken was a proud graduate of Apache High School, Class of 1980, where he not only excelled academically but also found his lifelong partner, the love of his life, Jana Roberts. They were married in 1983, embarking on a journey together that would span over four decades filled with joy, laughter, and mutual support. Together, they built a beautiful family, filled with love and cherished memories. Ken's legacy continues through his loving wife, Jana, and their three daughters: Baylee and Kane Lauminick of Muskogee, CJ Boydstun and Bobby Gee of Elgin, and Jaelyn and Micheal Lindsey of Apache.
He was a devoted grandfather, affectionately referring to his grandchildren by their designated numbers, and thrived on spending time with them. His grandchildren-Adlynn, Charlee, Ashtyn, Maddox, Lilly, Zander, and Logan-were the light of his life, and he took immense joy in watching them grow.
Ken dedicated 28 years of his life to Goodyear, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his career. Even after retiring, he remained an ardent supporter of his favorite sports team, the Oklahoma Sooners. He was a big fan, holding season tickets and rarely missing a game. His knowledge of OU sports was encyclopedic; he could recount player statistics and game histories, always eager to share his passion with others. Another passion of Ken's were his plants and flowers. He had a hobby of "adopting" the sad, droopy ones from garden centers. Nothing delighted him more than turning those underdogs into thriving, cheerful blooms.
He is survived by his loving mother, Lynda and Johnny Thompson of Edmond; his sisters: Kim and Tony Harrison of Mountain View, and Shannon and Jack Wilson of Piedmont; his brother, Steve and Stephanie Josey of Foss; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored him; and several close friends who were like family.
Ken was preceded in death by his beloved son, Kenneth Allen Boydstun, III, and his father, Kenneth Allen Boydstun, Sr., along with his cherished grandparents, Jack and Catherine Clifton. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved him.
A celebration of Ken's life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to come and share their memories, honoring the remarkable man who touched so many lives with his kindness, humor, and unwavering love. The family asks that you wear your favorite OU t-shirt in honor of Ken's love for the Oklahoma Sooners.
As we say goodbye to Ken, let us remember his infectious laughter, his unwavering support, and his deep love for family. His spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him, a guiding light reminding us of the importance of love, loyalty, and family. Rest in peace, dear Ken; you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
