KENNETH EDWARD BROWN

Kenneth Edward Brown was born on September 12, 1961, to Robert and Mary Alice Brown. He was the seventh of nine children. As a young boy, Kenneth professed his faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and united with College Avenue Baptist Church, now Oasis of Hope Baptist Church.

Kenneth graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1979 and later earned an Associate's Degree from Lincoln Tech College. He worked in property maintenance for many years, holding supervisory positions with Van Rooy Properties, Caito Foods, and Oasis of Hope Baptist Church. He also worked with Ace Hardware.

As his walk with Christ grew, Kenneth actively served in the ministries of the church as a Deacon, member of the Male Chorus and the Men's Ministry. He introduced and led the Angel Tree Ministry, where he helped care for families of incarcerated men during Christmas. Known for his servant's heart, he often assisted senior members of the church with maintenance needs and took pride in caring for those around him.

Kenneth was blessed with two daughters he dearly loved: KeWana "Mimi" Randall and Felicia Renee Brown. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren-Ke'Adriah, Jiyah, and Melani- who were all affectionately known as "PawPaw's Princesses."

On August 21, 1999, Kenneth married, Lisa Brown, and was blessed to share life with her children, Sequoia Jelks and Leady Sims III.

Kenneth "aka Kenny B" was known for his big heart, generous spirit, and love of family. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his best friend Andre (who he called Dre) and his great-nephew, Michael. Dre and Kenneth spoke everyday – they were close like brothers and provided support to one another. He cared for his youngest brother, Vincent, and welcomed him into his home. He loved the family chat that he participated in with his sisters and brothers. They spoke everyday sharing important family events, prayers, scriptures and a plain good laugh. Often going back and forth with his brother, Robert, and his nephews, Bryant (Suga B) and Stacey, telling "made up" stories. Family gatherings brought him great joy. Kenneth loved time with his extended family, especially his cousins. Whether he was manning the grill, cooking greens, dancing, cleaning chitlins, enjoying seafood or passing along his grill skills, he was always grateful for the time spent together.

An avid Indianapolis Colts fan, Kenny B rarely missed a game. He especially loved tailgating and cheering on the Colts alongside his daughters and grandchildren, Andre and other fans of the home team. He dreamed of traveling-envisioning road trips in an RV to the best fishing spots across the country.

Kenneth's life was marked by his spiritual gifts of serving and giving. Whether it was repairing a car, solving a plumbing problem, painting a room, hanging curtains, cooking a meal for someone

or any other way he could help somebody, family and friends knew they could count on him to show up! In the words of his niece Erica, "Uncle Kenna" was a force. He had a heart that gave without hesitation. If you needed something-anything-he would give you his last. He was a good son, a caring father and grandfather, a caring brother, a fun-loving uncle and a loyal friend."

After the passing of his mother in 2005, Kenneth often spoke of his Aunt Sharon as his "other mother," treasuring her love and guidance.

On Friday, September 19, 2025, Kenneth Edward Brown "Kenny B" transitioned from death into eternal life at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Alice and his sister, Michelle Denise Mabry.

He leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, KeWana Randall and Felicia Brown; his grandchildren, Ke'Adriah, Jiyah, and Melani; seven sisters and brothers, Alice (David) Woods, Lois (Jonnie) Edmonds, Robbie (James) Caldwell, Elmarmae "Mae" (Ronnie) Keough, Robert (Christine) Brown, Elnora Daniel, and Vincent Brown; a bonus son, Michael Seats; Andre' Murphy, his brother from another mother, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Kenneth's legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
