Kenneth Brown Obituary

Kenneth D. Brown
Born: September 8, 1943 in Danville, IL
Died: October 27, 2025 in Yorkville, IL
Kenneth D. Brown, 82, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025. Kenneth lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to family, a successful career, and a wide array of passions.
A proud graduate of West Aurora High School and alumnus of Aurora College, Kenneth valued education and carried that spirit of learning throughout his life. He began his professional journey with Sears Roebuck, where he built a long and respected career before retiring. Retirement did not slow him down; instead, it opened the door to new adventures as he became a retail management consultant. His work took him across several countries, allowing him to share his expertise while experiencing diverse cultures.
On June 4, 2009, Kenneth married the love of his life, Susan Brown (Major). Their union brought joy and companionship that enriched both their lives. Kenneth was a devoted husband.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Susan; children Betsy (Mark) Wherley, Lauri Brown, Dustin (Regina) Brown, and Bonny Brown (Dan Leary); grandchildren McKenna Wherley, Aiden Wherley, and Audrey Brown; sisters Suzanne (Terry) Johnson and Barbara Agnew; stepdaughter Stacey Hicks; brothers- and sister-in-law Mark Major, Terry Major, and Karen Jaimet; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Velma Brown and sister-in-law Dawn Major.
Beyond his professional accomplishments and family devotion, Kenneth had many passions that brought him joy. He was an avid fan of all sports but held a special place in his heart for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. A talented golfer and enthusiastic trivia player known for his intelligence and quick wit, Kenneth also found great satisfaction in woodworking-crafting pieces with care-and was widely regarded as a great cook who loved sharing meals with those around him.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
