Kenneth Colboth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Central Chapel Funeral & Cremation Southwest on Jan. 6, 2026.
Kenneth Colboth, longtime resident of Chicago's southside, currently residing in Algonquin, IL passed away December 30, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" Colboth (Stapleton); fun loving uncle of Donna Colboth, Chris Colboth, and Sean (Gina) Colboth; great-uncle of Anthony, Michael, And Christa and great-great uncle of Santino, Giovanni, Gina, Louie, and Lucy; also survived by his beloved friends Billy Billy, Randy, and Juanita.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Florence Colboth (Buckner); dear brother Daniel (late Sue) Colboth, and great-nephew Sean Damiano.
He was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with the people around him. Whether he was deep in thought over a chessboard, lost in a good book, or hoping for a lucky break with his lotto numbers, of course not without a cup of coffee in hand! A devoted sports fan, he could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, offering commentary that was equally passionate and humorous. His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts-he was a natural practical jokester, always ready with a playful tease or a clever prank that left everyone laughing.
He was rarely seen without a hat on, a small but memorable part of who he was.
He will be remembered for his warmth, his wit, and the lighthearted spirit he brought into every room. His presence made ordinary days feel a little brighter, and his memory will continue to do the same.
The family will meet at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 6001 W 111th St, Alsip, IL 60803, on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 12:00 pm for a graveside service where he will be laid to rest next to his late wife Margaret.
