It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kenneth Ray Coons. Kenneth went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2024. He was born on September 23, 1945 in Houston to Irwin and Doris Coons, where he lived his entire life. He graduated from Milby High School in 1964, then went on to Sam Houston State University graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Kenneth proudly served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam War, honoring his country with his service and commitment. Following his military service, he pursued a successful career as an Institutional Bond Broker. Kenneth's expertise, dedication, and professionalism earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients throughout his years in the industry.
A true outdoorsman, Kenneth found immense joy and peace in nature. He had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, often spending time in the woods or by a quiet stream with those he loved. He also spent many years volunteering for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, serving wherever he was needed, eventually becoming a lifetime member. Kenneth's enthusiasm for the outdoors was contagious, and his stories of adventure were cherished by family and friends.
Kenneth was a member of Second Baptist Church, where he was actively involved and served as Director of the Perfect Peace Bible Class from 2018 to 2020. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and he found joy in sharing it with others. Kenneth also dedicated many years to serving as both a Cub Scout Leader and a Boy Scout Leader. He was especially proud to help lead his son, Harrison, and other young men to achieve their Eagle Scout rank.
