Kenneth DeMond Obituary

Kenneth Russell DeMond, 79, formerly of North Attleboro, MA and South Dennis, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield, RI. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ellen DeMond (Tetreault), his forever sweetheart, with whom he shared 53 years of devoted marriage.

Born in New Haven, CT, on July 10, 1946, Kenny was the son of the late Russell John DeMond and Marguerite May (Stannard) DeMond of Guilford, CT. He was raised by his loving family in Guilford where, as a youth, he excelled in Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer, being named to the Guilford High School Athletic Hall of Fame for his many accolades.

Kenny graduated from Springfield College in 1969 where he also played Baseball, developing an enduring bond with teammates who became lifelong friends. After graduating from Springfield, he began his career as a teacher and coach at Foxboro High School, serving from 1969 to 1981, where he was revered by his students, his players, and fellow faculty. Kenny enjoyed great success as a Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball coach, culminating with an undefeated season for the 1977-78 Boys Soccer Team while capturing the Division 2 Eastern Massachusetts State Championship. He later transitioned into the furniture industry, starting in sales then advancing into management, where he spent the remainder of his professional life.

Kenny enjoyed a lifetime of active and meaningful pursuits. In his younger days, he experienced many achievements on the softball field, shared laughter on the golf course with friends, and gathered with his cherished neighbors on Glenfield Road. Moving to Cape Cod in 1996, some of his favorite memories are with family and friends on the beautiful sandy beaches of Dennis. A devoted New England sports fan, he faithfully followed the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and New England Patriots for his entire life. Above all, "Boppa" treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, who provided him with overwhelming pride and profound joy.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Dwayne DeMond and his wife Korrey of North Attleboro, MA, and Lynn Falzone and her husband Christopher of Attleboro, MA. In addition, he is survived by his prized grandchildren, Tate DeMond, Taylor DeMond, Gianna Falzone, Olivia Falzone, and Alexander Falzone. Kenny also leaves behind a devoted brother, Philip DeMond and his wife Eunice of Guilford, CT.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1 St. John's Place, Attleboro, MA. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, 165 West Street, Attleboro, MA.
