Kenneth E. "Kenny" Dines 68 of Danforth passed away on Thursday January 13, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee. He was born on July 15, 1953 in Hammond, IN the son of Arthur and Eleanore (Rafalski) Dines. Ken married the love of his life, Sharon Spadoni in Calumet City on August 12, 1972. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Sharon; three sons- Craig (Kelly) Dines of Gilman, Brad (Tiffany) Dines of Danforth, and Kurt Dines of Crescent City; three grandsons- Aiden Dines, Evan Dines, and Alex Dines; three brothers- Scott Dines of Calumet City, Pat Dines of Calumet City, and Tracy Dines of Porter County, IN; along with several nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, one brother- Dan, and one sister- Linda.
Ken was a veteran of the US Army, having served during Vietnam era stationed in Korea. He retired from Clifton School District in 2015 and was a lifetime member of Iroquois County Law Enforcement Association. He was a gun enthusiast, enjoyed working on cars, and tinkering with computers. Ken loved hanging out with his close family, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be on Monday January 17, 2022 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Knapp Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman. Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Dye officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Memorials may be made to the family wishes.
