Kenneth W. Engelhart

Kenneth W. Engelhart, age 95, of Whitesboro and formerly of Port Jervis, NY, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2023, at the Abraham House in Rome. He was born on June 23, 1928, in Port Jervis, NY, the oldest son of the late Walter and Florence (Rhoades) Engelhart.
Kenneth was a 1946 Port Jervis High School graduate and furthered his education at Syracuse University, graduating in 1952 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting after serving for two years in the United States Marine Corps.
On October 17, 1954 Ken was united in marriage to Patricia McCarthy, a loving union for 67 years until her passing in 2022.
Kenneth worked at General Electric as an accountant in the Manufacturing Department for many years. He was a member on Maynard United Methodist Church as well as the Whitestown Post American Legion.
Kenneth enjoyed attending and watching Syracuse University football, basketball and lacrosse games; he was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins as well as the New York Mets. However, he especially loved following the Whitestown Post 1113 American Legion Baseball team "Yeah Baby!"
Ken is survived by his sons, Paul (Doreen) Engelhart, Keith (Roseanne) Engelhart, and Matthew Engelhart; grandchildren Jason (Maranda) Engelhart, Shannon (Dave) Szatko, Allison Engelhart, Kyle Engelhart, and Jake Engelhart; great grandchildren Makenna, Shea, and Blake Engelhart, as well as Hadley and Graham Szatko. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara McKeeby of Port Jervis.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia; a brother, Douglas Engelhart; brother's in-law, Thom McKeeby, Mike McCarthy, and Dennis McCarthy; as well as his niece Luann McCarthy.
The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care, Abraham House, and especially his caregivers, Carrie Bosque, Kristin Merchant, and Betty Rieben, for their devoted care and compassion.
Friends are invited to call on the family from 10 – 11 am on Monday August 7, 2023 at Dimbleby Funeral Home's Inc. Whitesboro. A service for Kenneth will immediately follow the visitation. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
