Kenneth Willard Gerhardt born Sept 5, 1941 in Kenedy, TX to Daniel E. and Irene Hoffman Gerhardt. He died on July 15, 2024 in Tyler, TX.
Kenneth grew up in Kenedy, TX where he graduated from Kenedy High School in 1960. He later began his career working for Lone Star Gas, (later Enserch Exploration) a career that lasted 35 years. He later worked part time for Bacon Chevrolet driving cars for the dealership. He was a member of the First Christian Church Athens, TX where he served as a deacon and on the finance committee. He enjoyed traveling whether it was Galveston, New Mexico, Colorado, or Branson, he was always ready to go and enjoy life.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Aurora Amador Gerhardt, Malakoff, TX. Son Kenneth D. "Kenny" Gerhardt and wife Michele, of Batesville, AR., 4 grandchildren, Travis Perez, Sierra Perez, Chase Crawford, and Emilee Gerhardt, 1 great granddaughter Brooklyn Perez. Also surviving are a host of cousin whom he was very close to.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and his stepson Fermin Perez.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17 at First Christian Church, Athens, TX. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. with Grant Sessions officiating.
Memorials can be sent to Old Independence Regional Museum, 380. S. 9th Street, Batesville, AR 72501.
