Kenny, Oh so many years of fond memories. Pets, Parties, BBQs, Fireworks. Your 60th surprise birthday party is still one of the best ever. Thank you for being a friend. Rest easy now.

Ken was a longtime friend of our family. He was very generous and always extremely helpful. You couldn´t think of Ken without thinking about his little mini dachshunds: Sheila, Joey or Jackie. Those dogs went everywhere with Ken, even on the road as a long haul driver. I remember him dropping by our house to visit and having to search for any one of them as he visited. ` Jackie!!!´ So funny.
Ken made quite an impression on my kids and their friends over the years, especially with his often annual, much anticipated fireworks displays on our beach! Thirty or more guests and boats stationed in our cove would watch and enjoy this display each 4th of July for several years.
Ken would bring over a much requested favorite of his crockpot of sloppy joes when our groups got pretty large! His Greek salad and scalloped potatoes were also a favorite and much anticipated by all.
Once Ken retired, we thought he´d slow down, but he didn't completely retire right away, leaving some of us a bit confused. ` How are you retired if you still go in to work some days?´ Wed ask. We knew that was just Ken. Always working on some home improvement project or deeply engaged in his beloved garden! We think he initially acquired his green thumb from my dad , Nick, who would share plant clippings and novelty planters with him over the years. But over time, Ken had developed and created quite a masterpiece of his own! He was extremely proud of his garden as he should be. His beloved puppies´ ashes were eventually scattered in this precious place of his creation!
Ken will be missed, and we hoped there was some sort of memorial gathering we could have had for him or maybe we still could have. Please say a prayer for him and think about his best times and his generosity. I remember how much he loved my family and enjoyed seeing us grow. He lived his friends very much too.
When you remember Ken, think about something that made him laugh, because we all loved to laugh with Ken! We will miss you Ken! Let´s get together and shoot off some fireworks in his honor this summer or near his birthday in June!
Goodbye old friend.
