KENNETH GOETZ Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watson-Hunt Funeral Home - Perry on Jan. 2, 2026.
PERRY –

Kenneth Ray Goetz passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, after a brief illness. He was 96 years old. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Crossroads Methodist Church with the Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the Funeral beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Perry Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

Kenneth was born on September 8, 1929, in Deerfield, Michigan, to the late John Fred and Ruth Newman Goetz. He moved as a young child with his family to the family farm in Middle Georgia, which is now part of Robins Air Force Base. After purchasing land in Byron, Kenneth grew up there and graduated from high school. He soon accepted a position as a Lab Technician with Proctor and Gamble in their cooking oil manufacturing plant in Macon. His career spanned over thirty years, including the transition from P & G to Archer Daniels Midland, from where he retired. An avid woodworker, Kenneth became skilled and talented at building picture frames and even furniture. A long-time member of Crossroads Methodist Church, he and his wife were members of the Searchers Adult Sunday School Class.

Kenneth was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Doris Allen Goetz; a son, Joseph Lamar Goetz; four brothers; a sister; and his daughter, April Barrentine.

Left to cherish the memories they made with Kenneth are his sons, Ken Lloyd Goetz (Lynn) of Tampa, FL, and Randall Goetz (Shelby) of Cochran; his son-in-law, Greg Hammack of Gray; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister, JoAnn Britt; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Condolences for the family may be left in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com. Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
