Kenneth Warren Green "Doc", 79, of Spartanburg, died at his home surrounded by his family on November 9, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Kenneth, known to all as Kenny, Ken, Doc, and Papa Doc, was born May 31, 1946 in Spartanburg, SC to parents Boyd C and Violet Willard Green. Ken was a 1964 graduate of Spartanburg High School and also a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College. Ken was a clarinetist in the Spartanburg High School marching band, an accomplishment of which he was very proud. Ken always loved to travel, visiting many countries throughout the world, and most of the U.S. states during his lifetime. Ken lived in many interesting places in his lifetime, from Atlanta to New York state, to Florida, to Maine, before returning to his hometown of Spartanburg. Ken was always ready with a smile and loved to laugh and play practical jokes. Ken was a lifelong member of Beaumont Baptist Church where he had been a Sunday school teacher, church librarian, and choir member, and where he had been active until his illness prevented him from attending. Ken is survived by his three children; Eric Green (Danielle) of Pacolet, Cameron Green (Crystal) of Spartanburg , and Shannon Green Wyne (Andy) of Sutton, WV; 8 grandchildren, Andrew Green (Kenna) of Boiling Springs, Ashley Van Deusen (Brandon) of Greer, Drew and Anna Wyne of Sutton WV, Emma and Ellis Kate Green of Spartanburg, and Zayden and Zoey Hall of Pacolet; brother, Michael Green (Sharon) of Spartanburg; sisters, Vicky Green of Woodruff and Teresa Green of Woodruff; sister-in-law, Joyce Green of Spartanburg; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ken was predeceased by his parents, Boyd and Violet; brother, Edward Green; nephew, Travis Green; and niece, Jill Green. The family will receive friends at Beaumont Baptist Church on Sunday, November 23rd from 1:30 to 2:15PM followed by a memorial service at 2:30PM in Celebration of Ken's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beaumont Baptist Church Music Fund, or Hungry for Music (Hungry for Music, 24065 Senedo Road, Woodstock, VA 22664)

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Regional Hospice, especially Carrie Oxford; the staff of The Inverness of Spartanburg, especially Rebecca, Joyce, and Toni; as well as the countless other staff who has become like family to Ken and who took loving care of Ken up to his last days.

The family will be at the home of Eric Green, 176 Fleming Ave., Pacolet Mills, SC.
