Kenneth Mark Hall, 72, of Grays Creek went home to be with our Lord and savior on August 8th, 2023.
Mark was born in Cumberland County. He is the son of the late James & Margaret “Cooper” Bass Hall. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ina McDonald and Kathy Hall.
He was a follower of Christ that was called to ministry. Mark began in prison ministry sharing the gospel at several local prisons to include McCain Correctional facility. He was also the interim pastor at Mount Vernon Baptist Church before taking over as the pastor of North Lumberton Baptist Church. During this time Mark also managed to earn a degree in Philosophy and Religious studies. The Lord then called Mark to serve as pastor for Harrellsville Baptist Church where he and Evelyn enjoyed exploring the many waters to include Chowan River. Mark and Evelyn then returned home to the Grays Creek area to be near family and Mark was delighted to be preaching at Raft Swamp Baptist Church. The members of Raft Swamp welcomed Mark and there he remained the pastor until he was called to come home.
Throughout his life the Hall family spent many Summers at Long Beach and Mark enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. Mark was always drawn to woodworking, building his own bows and even a marvelously crafted canoe. There wasn’t anything that Mark couldn’t fix. He was an avid reader who was always seeking knowledge and appreciated history which assisted in his preaching as he was able to help others have a more in depth understanding of the Bible. Along with all these amazing qualities, Mark was very witty and could always make everyone laugh. He was always a good listener and gave the best advice.
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Hall; daughters, Cindy Fields & husband Jamie and Leslie McFadyen & husband Jason; son, James Thomas Hall & wife Jenny; grandchildren, Joshua Fields, Zachary Fields, Brittany Fields, Tiffany Derhammer, Devlin McFadyen, Zoey Hall and Layla Hall; great grandchildren, Elisabetta McFadyen, Ella McFadyen and Jasper Derhammer; sister, Sherri Warwick & husband Darrell.
Mark loved serving the Lord and caring for his family. He will be missed by all those that he has touched and those who had the honor to know him.

I use to drive Mark and Evelyn around when Evelyn and I were in High School.. Evelyn was maid of honor at my wedding. Mark singed my wedding certificate. Mark was a wonderful man and friend. I am sure he is celebrating with our Lord. Much love, Randy and Carol Russ
