Kenneth Leroy Hoyte, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on July 11th, fulfilling his wish to sleep peacefully. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Born on March 21st, 1937, in Binghamton, Kenneth spent his formative years in Whitney Point and the surrounding areas. He began to work on farms during his early teens, fostering a fondness of farming. Kenneth was also known for his self-taught expertise in car mechanics.
Kenneth dedicated several years of service to Phillips Foundry, rising to the position of supervisor. During this time, he formed enduring friendships with his co-workers.
In his personal life, Kenneth found immense joy in the company of his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte Hoyte (Preston), and their love story continues to inspire all. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: daughter Joyce Lundy and son-in-law Robert Lundy (pre-deceased), son Kenneth Hoyte and fiancée Jeanie Campbell, son Keith Hoyte and girlfriend Karli Welch, as well as son Michael Hoyte. He was also a cherished grandfather, sharing his wisdom and creating precious memories with Tim, Todd, Kimberly, Keira, Bobby, and Scott. While also being a great grandfather to 11 great grandchildren. Additionally, he is fondly remembered by former daughter-in-law Sandy Hoyte, as well as many more close family and friends!
Beyond work and family life, Kenneth pursued his passions. He was an avid bowler for several years and enjoyed playing cards, particularly pinochle. He was known to frequent Mary's Bar, where he threw horseshoes and brought joy to those around him. Kenneth touched the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and love, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
A funeral viewing and service to honor Kenneth's life will be held on Friday, July 14th at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home located at 737 Chenango St, Port Dickinson, NY 13901. The viewing will be 10am until 11am, with the service to follow from 11am until 12pm. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's in Kenneth's memory.
Kenneth Leroy Hoyte will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will endure through the lives he touched.

My sincere condolences to all of Ken´s family and friends during this difficult time. When I lived up in the Town of Maine I often visited Ken to have him work on my and my children´s vehicles. He was a pleasure to be around. Always there to help. Just a wonderful person. May God Bless you Ken, and thanks for all you did for me and my family. RIP old friend. Mark Bohunicky Naples Florida
