Kenneth A. Jones, 72, of Vermilion, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 29, 2025, following a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 6, 1953, in Lorain, OH, and was a lifelong resident of Vermilion.
Ken dedicated 27 years of service to the City of Vermilion as a Police Officer, retiring in 2001. He then worked for Harbortown Marine until 2019. Beyond his career, he was a man who loved the outdoors and simple joys of life. He enjoyed kayaking, collecting beach glass and sharks teeth, camping, traveling, trying any new exotic food when traveling, and biking. He loved spending his winters in Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Robin L. Jones (née Fraunfelder); his children, Brian Jones of Dripping Springs, TX, and Michelle Jones of Vermilion; his cherished granddaughters, Natalie and Isabelle Kovach ; and his brother, Tom Jones of Vermilion.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Anne Jones (née Zydiac); his sister, Linda Karney; and brothers, Richard, Terry and Bob Jones.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at a later date.
