He was born and raised in Southwest Philadelphia. He was an alter server and a choir boy at Good Shepard Catholic Church. He began working as a paperboy at the age of 10. He was a Veteran and served in the Army as a Medical Specialist and as a member of the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania. He worked at Westinghouse, representing the third generation in his family following his father and grandfather, for 29 years as a machinist, shop steward and foreman. While working at Westinghouse, he worked on the weekends as the owner of his own business, "Ken Jordan Carpet Cleaning Service", and as a roofer with his friend's roofing company. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his cat, Ice Cream. He loved sitting on the front porch and feeding the birds. He also enjoyed having a beer with his lunch and a glass of wine with his dinner and never turned down a soft pretzel.
