Kenneth K. Kennedy, 99, of Frostburg, died December 27, 2025 at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, surrounded by his devoted family. Born Feb.19,1926 in Cumberland, MD, he was the son of the late Kenneth H. Kennedy and Mattie Jewell Kennedy Fayman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Enid P. Kennedy, whom he married in 1948.

Ken graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1943. After completing one year at Western Maryland College (McDaniel) as a Senatorial scholar, he enlisted in the US Army and served during WW II as a Sargent with the 5th Army in Italy. After returning, he completed his Civil Engineering degree at the University of Maryland in 1951 and became a registered Professional Engineer. He worked at Westvaco in the engineering department, eventually being promoted to the position of Superintendent in 1965. He earned his Masters in Management at Frostburg State College in 1972. He later became President of Westvaco Resources, Inc. in 1974, retiring in 1989.

He was a member and past Master of the Queen City Mason's Lodge 131; member of the American Legion, Post 24; Maplehurst Country Club; and St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Frostburg.

Ken was an avid golfer, playing twice weekly with his golf foursome, (Jack, Bill, Speed). He and Enid traveled extensively throughout the United States, and also saw much of Europe and Canada. He was on many bowling league teams over the years. Ken was always ready with a joke, remembering some jokes for decades. He was a fan of all things University of MD, watching every televised sports team. A voracious reader, he had a shelf reserved especially for his books at the Frostburg Public Library.

Ken was married to Enid Musser Kennedy for 66 years prior to her passing in 2014. He is survived by three daughters, Lynn Fike (Kenny), Andrea De Palatis (Paul), and Dr. Lorri Rumburg (Russ); grandchildren Dr. Gregory Fike (Melissa), Carey Williams (Cornell), Christopher Fike (Caitlin), Angela De Palatis (Eric Little), Michael De Palatis (Amy), Jess Rumburg (Anne), Rob Rumburg (Katrina) and 5 great grandchildren, Emmett, Archer, Evelena, Catherine, and Genevieve.
