KENNETH ALLEN “KENNY” FRANKLIN, 58, went to meet his Lord Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

A native and lifelong resident of Aiken County, Kenny was a son of Robert and Helen Key Franklin. He worked as a truck driver and also appliance repairman for his family’s business, Franklin’s Appliance Repair in New Ellenton.

Kenny had a passion for sports, proudly supporting the Gamecocks and being a devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Helen Franklin of New Ellenton; brother, Michael Franklin and his wife Kasey of New Ellenton; daughters, Amy Halburnt and her husband Andrew of Springfield, SC, Emerson Franklin of Kite, GA; Kenny also leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, Brooklynn and Kinsley Halburnt, as well as another grandchild expected in November. He is additionally survived by two nephews, Dylan and Payton Franklin, and many aunts and uncles who held him dear. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, EB and Bernice Key, and Golie and Elizabeth Franklin.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, June 8th beginning at 2 o’clock at Hollow Creek Baptist Church followed by a Service Celebrating His Life at 3 o’clock. The Rev. Steve Cartin will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Byars, Hank Byars, Travis Boone, Erik Galloway, Buster Key and Scott Key. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Heath, Jimmy Webster, Larry Allen and Andrew Halburnt.

Kenny will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He courageously fought a long battle with illness, and we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and is now walking with his Heavenly Father.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org), American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or American Liver Foundation (liverfoundation.org).
