Kenneth "Woody" R. Kerr Sr.
Sterling, Michigan
Kenneth "Woody" Ray Kerr Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, departed this life on July 17, 2025, at the age of 84, in the comfort of his home in Sterling, Michigan.
Born on June 28, 1941, in Sterling, Michigan to the late Henry & Carole (Thorpe) Kerr. Ken grew up to be a man of great integrity and passion. He shared a loving marriage celebrating 59 years together with his wife, Patricia (Krupa), and together they raised a family that included their children Kenneth "Ray" (Debra) Jr., Stanley A. (Tina Willett) Kerr, Diana Jeske, and Michael S. Kerr. Ken was a proud grandfather to Jordan, Austin, Shaelyn, Calvin (C.J.), Cameron Kerr, Haley Kanyo, Nicholas Jeske, Thomas and Aurora Willett. His legacy continued to grow with the joy brought by his great-grandchildren Weston, Kennedi, Odin, Nora Kerr, and Kayden Kanyo, brother David (Joyce), and sister-in-law Phyllis Kerr. He was preceded in death by his beloved son Michael, granddaughter Jacinda, his parents-in-law, and his siblings Louie, Robert, Leona, and Ilene.
Ken's professional life was marked by his dedicated service at Delphi-GM, where he was a respected member of the tool and die layout inspection team. His commitment to excellence in his craft was evident to all who worked alongside him. Ken's involvement in various associations throughout his career reflected his belief in the importance of community and collaboration.
Outside of work, Ken found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of hunting and fishing programs, casino trips were a treasured pastime, where he enjoyed the thrill of chance and the companionship of friends. Additionally, Ken's love for playing cards was well known, and many will fondly remember the laughter and camaraderie that filled the room during those games.
Ken was a member of the American Legion Squadron #104, K of C Pinconning, and Resurrection of the Lord Church.
Ken's life was a testament to the values he held dear: love for his family, a strong work ethic, and the pursuit of happiness in everyday moments. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, and his memory will be treasured in our hearts forever.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice and Compassionate Care.
Funeral mass is on Wednesday July 23, 2025 at 3 pm at Resurrection of the Lord church with Rev. Fr, Tom Held presiding with burial in St. Mary's Mt. Calvary cemetery.
