Kenneth Koetsier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home on Dec. 24, 2025.
Kenneth Martin Koetsier, age 60, of South Olive, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 22nd, 2025, a few days after a tragic car accident.

Ken was born on November 21st, 1965, to Ronald and Elinor Koetsier. He married Amy Nienhuis on November 16th, 1990, and they had three children, Katlyn, Marissa, and Sam. He worked as an engineer at Donnelly, Micromatic, and then Agritech until 1993, when he and Amy started a green and yellow bean farm. Ken had a hobby of buying and selling cars that eventually grew into a family car business called K2autos, officially opening in 2003. Ken enjoyed spending time with family, working at his car dealership, camping, boating, and watching his kids' sporting events. He was a lifelong member of South Olive Christian Reformed Church and passionate supporter of South Olive Christian School, where he served on the school board. He gave generously of his time, talents, and treasures, always serving with humility, encouragement, and a deep love for Christ. His favorite bible verse was Matthew 6:20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal."

His stories, heart, and presence will be missed by all who knew him. We will miss his ability to have a conversation with anyone about anything. We will remember his love for his family, community, and above all, Jesus. We will honor him by living by his example: in faith, love, and hope. Not our will, but God's be done, may Christ be magnified. "Death is swallowed up in victory, O death, where is your victory, O death, where is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15:54b-55.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents Ronald and Elinor Koetsier. He is survived by his wife, Amy, of 35 years; his children: Katlyn (Ryan) Geeting, Marissa (Hunter) Lewellyn, and Sam Koetsier (girlfriend Kayla Trahey); grandchild Grayson Geeting; sister Cindy (Phil) Visser; mother in-law Arloa Nienhuis; brother in-laws Todd (Dana) Nienhuis, Tim (Michelle) Nienhuis, Nate (Kelly) Nienhuis; many nieces and nephews, and his dog Chip.

Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 PM, and 5:00-7:30 PM, Sunday, December 28th, at South Olive Christian Reformed Church, 6425 120th Ave., Holland MI 49424. 2025. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, December 29, 2025, also at South Olive CRC. Interment will be in Olive Township Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, we would greatly appreciate memorial donations in memory of Ken be made to South Olive Christian School. .

When we heard about Ken's accident we were in disbelief. Also heard he was in a very bad way. Prayed things would improve and sadden of the outcome.
