Kenneth Chester Kuehl, 90 of Farmersburg, Iowa passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at MercyOne Hospital in Elkader, Iowa. Kenneth was born November 9, 1935 to Louis and Grace (Bowman) Kuehl in Elkport, Iowa. His schooling started at Volga #3 Country School being taught by his Aunt Olie Kuehl from kindergarten through the 8 th grade. Kenny attended Colesburg High School for the 9th and 10 th grade and Elkader High School for 11 th and 12 th grade, graduating with the class of 1954.

On April 15, 1958, Kenny was united in marriage with Velma Bradley at Grace Methodist Church in Oelwein, Iowa. Two children were born to this union. Kenny proudly joined and served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960, serving in Korea for a year. Kenny started his career with his uncles at the Kuehl Crest Farms, then as a Mechanic at Rhomberg Implement, Moyna Construction, Palas Implement and finally Kenny and Jerry Jennings started their own Farmersburg Implement for his final chapter of his work days.

Kenny and Velma moved to Farmersburg in 1962 and he took great pride in his adopted "home town" and served on the Farmersburg Fire Department for over fifty years and the City Council for over twenty-five years. He loved "joke telling" to his friends and teasing his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Kenny and Velma enjoyed dancing, road trip vacations and many years of camping on their own and with the Good Sam Camping Club, where members became friends. Kenny also thoroughly enjoyed his trip to Alaska.

Surviving Kenny are his wife, Velma Kuehl of Farmersburg, Iowa; children, Deborah (Dan) Urban of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Allen (Bobbi) Kuehl of Luana, Iowa; grandchildren, Kelly (Wes) Haskell and Megan (Mike) Mason; great-grandchildren, Weston and Kaelyn Haskell, Keegan and Bella Dudley, Isaac Urban and Tasha, Annabelle and Landon Mason; siblings, Marilyn Schrampfer of Oak Harbor, Washington and Lois (Edward) Nelson of St. Olaf, Iowa; sister-in-law, Linda Ohl of Mason City, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Kenny in death were his parents, Louis and Grace Kuehl; his brother, Carl Kuehl; brother-in-law, Willis Schrampfer; sister-in-law, Marilyn Kuehl; and in-laws, Alton and Chester Bradley.

A Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Monona, Iowa. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Monday.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, February 2, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church in Farmersburg, Iowa with Rev. Jeremy Wolfe as the officiant.

Burial with Military Rite to follow lunch at Mt. Harmony in Garber, Iowa.

Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona, Iowa is assisting the family with services.
