Kenneth W. Lange
Kenneth W. Lange, 91, of Enfield, CT, husband of 65 years to Barbara (Cormier) Lange, passed away Saturday (August 19, 2023), at home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous four-year battle with lung cancer. Kenneth was born in New Britain, CT on January 31, 1932, to William and Christine (Mitchell) Lange.
He attended New Britain High School and served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean conflict before calling Enfield his home. He was employed for many years as a lithographer at Allied Printing in Manchester, CT, where he met many friends before retiring in 1994. After his retirement, Kenneth traveled to many places with his wife, Barbara, and their travel companions, Arthur and Janet Usher. He enjoyed going to the casino (sometimes), watching UCONN basketball, History Channel, Dr. Pol, fly fishing, beer, and spending time with his family who he loved dearly.
Besides his wife of 65 years, Barbara, he is survived by two children Kevin Lange of Enfield and Mary (Lange) Benjamin, and her husband Robert of Woodbury, CT. Two grandchildren Emily Benjamin and her fiancé Matthew Lindell of Middlebury, CT and Andrew Benjamin of Woodbury; CT, his brother-in-law John Beres of Coraopolis, PA; several nieces, nephews, and their families.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, William and Christine Lange; in-laws Herman and Eileen Cormier; two brothers, Robert Lange, Richard Lange; and three sisters, Eleanor Vetre, Dorothy Beres, Beverly Cote; as well as one grandchild, Emerson Benjamin.
Of special note, the family of Kenneth would like to send their thanks and gratitude to Trinity Health of New England Hospice, for their wonderful services and care. Especially, Erin, Paula, Kristie, and Brandi. Neighbors Trisha, Bob Wright, and sons, as well as dear friend Sharon Snyder, for their help and support at any given moment during Kenneth's illness. Able Care Pharmacy & Medical Supplies for their friendly and compassionate services. His long-time physician, Dr. Richard Orris, as well as Dr. Jay Thumar and Dr. Joseph Colasanto and their staffs, who always delivered compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the American School for the Deaf or the
American Lung Association in support of lung cancer prevention research. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held at a future date, at the convenience of the family.
