In Loving Memory of Dr. Kenneth R. LevyIt is with great sadness and full hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Kenneth R. Levy on January 30,2025, at home in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Just one month earlier, he joyfully celebrated his 87th birthday onChristmas Day-a fitting milestone for someone who was, in so many ways, a gift to all who knew him.Born on December 25, 1937, Ken lived a life marked by quiet strength, dry humor, and a deep devotion to thepeople and animals he loved. Known to many as Ken, Dad, or Grandpa, he had a way of making others feel seen-often with a warm smile and a well-placed joke.He now reunites in heaven with his beloved wife, Ida G. Levy-a model, actress, and the love of his life-his forevermuse, who insisted he take her picture everywhere they went. Together, they shared a love story that neverdimmed, not even with time. He had a heart as loyal as his love for the Yankees and a taste for life as rich as aperfectly piled pastrami on rye. He also reunites with their beloved pups, Baby and Buttons-furry family memberswho added warmth, joy, and plenty of personality to their life together.A gifted oral surgeon, Ken built a successful practice in Manhattan, where his sharp mind, steady hands, and calmpresence touched countless lives. After decades of service, he and Ida retired to Keedysville, Maryland, where theytraded city lights for garden beds and new adventures.Ken found joy in the everyday: a flourishing tomato vine, the last clue in a crossword puzzle, or a well-packedsuitcase before a new trip. He loved to travel, and especially cherished his adventures with his daughter, Linda-exploring new places, new cultures, and making memories that will last forever. His world was wide, and he filled itwith learning, laughter, and the people he held dear.Ken leaves behind his daughter, Linda McDonough; his son-in-law, Steve McDonough; his grandchildren, MorganMcDonough and Justin and Amanda McDonough; and his great-granddaughter, Naya McDonough. He is alsosurvived by his faithful sidekick, Arlo-who rarely left his side and will surely miss their quiet routines and sharedsnacks. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Dolores Persaud; nephew, Vishnu Persaud and family; nieces, Indira Persaudand Dana Sherman and her family; nephew, Ric Sherman and family; and many cherished cousins. In addition to family, Ken shared an unshakable bond with dear friends Karl and Maryanne Cross, chosen familywhose presence was as constant and comforting as his own.He will be remembered for his gentleness, his integrity, and the quiet strength with which he loved-deeply, loyally, and without condition. His legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the photos he cherished, and the love that continuesto echo in all of us who knew him.
