Pastor Kenneth Lida Sr.

Jefferson, SC - Pastor Kenneth Lida Sr., 82, of Jefferson, SC, stepped into the arms of his Savior on Tuesday morning, June 22, 2021. He was born on August 14, 1938 son of the late Homer and Mary Hawkins Lida. He was also preceded in death by his sister Patsy, grandson Kenneth E. Lida, III "Trey", as well as great granddaughter Karsyn Leigh Wallace.

Pastor Lida, known to his family and friends as Daddy, Papa and Preacher Ken, lived a wonderful life as a faithful servant to the Lord for over 50 years. He loved his family dearly and loved his Lord and would want you to know today Jesus is the only way, the truth, and the life.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Trinity Baptist Church, 2613 Concord Hwy., Monroe, NC 28110. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Pageland, SC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 25, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.

Preacher Ken and wife of over 65 years, Ann, moved to Union County in 1979, where he was minister for several years at Benton Heights Baptist Church. In 1983 his desire to preach, teach and share the love of Jesus with as many people as he could, led him to found Covenant Baptist Church in Monroe, NC. He served at Covenant Baptist Church for 22 years until his retirement in 2005. Even after retirement, he served as interim minister to several local churches in Monroe as well as Pageland and Jefferson, SC. Rev. Lida's ministry has touched many lives over his years of ministry.

He is a graduate of Laurens High School, Laurens SC; as well as North Greenville College and received his Master's Degree from Gardner Webb University.

He also served in the United States Air Force for four years active duty and two years in the reserves.

Preacher Ken is survived by; his loving wife, Ann; as well as children, Kim (Larry) Broadway; Kenny (Joanne) Lida Jr.; Rosie (Doug) Richardson; Genie (Rick) Pearson; and Lydia (Tim) Wallace, his grandchildren, Cregg (Andrea) Richardson; Kelly (Fernando) Lida, Kyle (Emilea) Richardson, Jamie (Thomas) Matthews, Emily (Trevor) Schneider, Clint (Claudia) Broadway, Drew (Stephanie) Wallace and Mallory (James) Wallace, Lori Broadway, Ricky J. Pearson Jr. (Ginger), Ellen (Rodney) Lawless, Dustin (April) Pearson. He is also survived by 27 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and he is expecting a new great grandson in September.
