Coach Long was an amazing boss and friend back when I was a student at KSU. Even after I graduated my sister and I sang the national anthem for basketball games because of his request. A gentle giant he would give you the coat off of his back. May God bless his family and all who will love and miss him. May his next journey be one of peace and bliss.

What a great man. He was the most intimidating man when I first met him as a freshman hockey player at KSU. However behind that image was caring ,giving, kind, hardworking man. You had to earn his respect but once you did you were in the circle. And no matter how often or how long between the times you would see him he was always happy to see you and ask what was going on in your life. Truly truly a great human being. May he rest in peace. I am sorry I am out of town and will not be able to attend his service. I am genuinely crushed that I can't be a part of the celebration of his life. My thoughts and prayers to Nancy and Ethan

My condolences to his family and relatives. We coached together at Kent State in the mid 1980's. Ken was a good guy with a wonderful family. I admit that I am shaken by the loss. Kenny will truly be missed.
