Kenneth Louk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arner Funeral Chapel - Chester on Oct. 20, 2024.
Kenneth Louk,77, of East Palestine, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Steubenville Country Manor.
Ken was born to Elzie and Martha Ruth Crawford Louk on March 14, 1947, north of New Cumberland, WV., on what was known then as Hillcrest Farms.
He joined the US Army in his senior year at Oak Glen High School in 1968. After serving two years, he volunteered for the Army Rangers and then volunteered to serve with an eight-member team advisor for the 51st VN Ranger team living with the Vietnamese at a small camp in Vietnam. Nam. During his tour, he was awarded three combat awards, two for valor. Discharged, he found civilian life boring and enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After three years, he found being a grunt was also boring, so he volunteered for training with the US Naval Security Agency. After years of NSA school, he got his first assignment. For the following 18 years, he lived out of a suitcase or his B4 bag, living only six to eight months in any country he was assigned to, and he loved it. He was assigned to the National Security Agency in HQ as a systems analyst and courier. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Discharged once again, he found his BA psych degree from The University of Maryland unrewarding and decided to try OTR truck driving and once again got to travel, meet new people, and learn.
Retired, he finally settled in East Palestine and fell in love with the neighborhood and the children which he taught many things, including SCUBA, shooting/safety, and repelling. It was there that he met his best friend, Ronda. He and Ronda would see the Nutcracker ballets for many years in Pittsburgh with various local girls who they treated with gowns, hairstyles, and dinner at the Shakespeare castle-themed restaurant.
Ken never married but shed tears many times after saying goodbye to many lady friends and others he got attached to during his many assignments worldwide.
Ken was preceded in death by siblings Shirley (Ivan) Eismon, Kay (Dave) Nales, Carol (Wesley) McLaughlin, Karen Sue Poynter, and Wanema Cox, as well as sister-in-law Sally. Survivors are Ralph Louk (Loretta) of Calcutta, OH., the "Go To" David Louk of Calcutta, OH. and Ken's best friend Ronda and Steve Lucivjanski of Canfield, OH.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at the Arner Funeral Chapel from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Military honors will follow at 6:00 PM.

It was an honor to have served with Kenneth, and the camping and hunting in Alaska. Reconnecting and recalling our adventures as young men.

I will always remember you dear friend.
