Linda & Family,
I sure hope you and the family get this remembrance & I would like to hear from you. Kent was a suite mate in the dorms at Florida Atlantic University in 1966-67 and then he, Frank Rudzik & I rented off campus during my Sr. year. About once a year, I have tried to find them on Facebook and other places and unfortunately, obituaries too often yield results. I rode with Kent to Milwakee in between those years to work as a furniture helper during the summer. Oh, the stories....
It surely sounds like he lived a full and fun life and I can still see that smirky smile of his. Bless you all for having been part of his life!
Please feel free to reach out to me. Ritch Yount, [email protected]

Such a surprise to hear of Kent's passing. Janet and I spent a lot of time with Kent hanging out in ice arenas in Wisconsin and Illinois when our boys played ice hockey at Arrowhead High School. Kent was always willing to help the coaches to do what was needed. I was privledged to know Kent and his wonderful family. Janet and I offer our deepest sympathy to Linda and your wonderful family that you two created. Our prayers are with you !

Kent was a beloved member of the Pleasant View School staff. We all remember him shaking his head and giving the look. His enthusiasm made events like Prom, Camp, Special Olympics, staff holiday parties, gatherings at Maltby's Tap, Administrators and Supervisors Council (ASC) Board meetings, ASC luncheons, and Milwaukee Area Teacher Association luncheons (to name just a few) more fun. Watching him dance at the ASC parties was a treat for all. His always encouraged others to get involved and did more than his share in every activity. If you needed help Kent had a suggestion or a helping hand. He lent me his school administrator course books so I could study to pass the administrator's test when I applied for my first Supervisor position. We shared many stories of the trials and joys of both raising five children while being school administrators and both being thankful for our spouse's support. Our hair didn't get grey early to be fashionable. I greatly admired his strong faith in God and involvement in the Church. He was a shining example of a man of God. Bless his soul and bless the entire Maltby family. God's blessings and strength to you Linda as you face this great loss. My prayers are with you.

My long-time friend for the past fifty years will be dearly missed by me and so many others who had the good fortune to know him. Kent and I met during the first day of orientation for new teachers at Boca Raton High School. Kent and I became good friends from that day on. After our second year of teaching, during our summer break, we traveled together to a dozen countries in Europe for a most memorable vacation. Kent became my best man when I married Joni. Although Kent moved back to Wisconsin just a few years after our meeting, we stayed in touch with him and his lovely wife Linda all these years. Matter of fact, Kent visited us a few months ago in Florida. As always, we had the best time together. Kent was my senior by six years, and I always respected him and learned from him. Kent, I will truly miss you, and I thank you for being my good friend all these years.

Cousin Kent will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He loved to camp at the Calumet Country Park, of which his Grandfather, Charles Maltby, was one of its founders. Kent was caretaker of the monument honoring the founders. I will miss him, his sense of humor, and his passion for family history. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Maltby family.I went to Messmer with Kent. He was always a great guy. I saw him last summer at our 60th high school reunion and we talked for quite awhile. May he rest in peace.

Condolences to the entire Maltby family as this indeed is a sad moment. First serving his country, then children of the community and finally his family, Kent always put others first and truly adhered to the teachings of the church. I enjoyed his sense of humor as well as his perspective. A good man who will surely be missed. Rest in peace my friend and may a perpetual light shine upon your soul and spirit.

I have been blessed to spend time with Kent on a number of occasions, and to get to know he and his lovely wife, Linda Lou, especially through their kids, Kurt and Keith. The obituary is beautiful, but, as you would expect for a man of the quality of Kent Maltby, cannot do justice to his goodness, virtue and honor, nor the legacy he leaves behind in his family and all those he educated and influenced over the years, nor to the void left in his absence. He was a real man, and an enduring example of what a real man should be. Love and Prayers to his family, he will be missed. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he, and all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
