FAIRFIELD - Kenneth A. Marks, Sr., 79, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on October 19, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. He was at home with his family by his side.
Ken was born and raised on the family farm in Albion on April 1, 1942. He attended Albion area schools and graduated from "Good Ole Besse High" in 1960.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Andrea, of 39 years; his children, Kenneth Marks, Jr. and partner Helena Fowler, Douglas Marks and partner Crystal Roberts, Michael Marks and wife Susan, and Susan Reynolds and partner Ken Miller; his step-daughters, Laura Clifford and husband Dennis, and Amy Strout and husband Ty.
He is also survived by his 13 wonderful grandchildren that he absolutely adored,
Tyler, Kenari, Colby, Brian, Katelyn, Briana, Benjamin, Jake, Maddie,
Jackson, Cooper, Lexi and Connor; and great-granddaughter Mili.
Also his sister, Ida Stevens; brothers, Raymond Marks, Ronald Marks, Winston Marks, Charlie Marks and wife Sarah; sister, Joan Stevens and husband Stan; and brother, Ricky Marks and partner Patty Norton.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, Bruce and LaVina Marks; Sisters-in-law, June, Joette, and Jewel Marks; and brother-in-law Elwood Stevens.
Ken was a standout basketball and baseball player while attending Besse High. He continued with his love of sports after graduation. He played softball for many years for several local teams. He was also an avid bowler. In his later years he enjoyed golfing.
Ken worked at Smiley's Dairy for many years as a milkman, before embarking on his next journey as a Master Electrician. He worked for his brother Winston at "W. Marks Electric" until Winston retired. Then he branched out on his own and continued to work until age 72.
In his retirement years, Ken enjoyed going for long rides around the State of Maine and playing cards with his wife Andrea, going out to breakfast, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Ken was a member of the Waterville Elks Club.
The family would like to thank Hospice Care of Maine for their outstanding care and patience. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Interfaith Food Pantry at 23 Lawrence Avenue, Fairfield, Maine 04937.
At his request, there will be a private graveside ceremony for immediate family only.
