Kenneth McEntire Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Little & Davenport Funeral Home & Crematory on Jun. 29, 2024.
Kenneth Eugene McEntire, age 75, of Gainesville, GA went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born in McDowell County, NC on April 25, 1949 and was the son of the late Erastus and Mary McEntire.
Ken was a loving husband and father, a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and a graduate of Western Carolina University with a degree in Nursing. He retired from New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. He proudly served his country and during his Nursing career, had the honor and the privilege of serving his communities both in southeastern and western North Carolina. In retirement Ken loved working in his garden and working puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his parents Erastus Bryant "E.B." McEntire, who passed away in 1984; Mary Elizabeth McEntire, who passed away in 2013; and his brother, Harold McEntire who passed away in 2005.
More than anything, Ken loved spending time with friends and his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Becky McEntire of 33 years; son, Jason McEntire; daughter, Erin McEntire; daughter, Katie Beal; grandchildren, Tyler McKinney, Cameron McEntire, and Norah Williams; sister, Margaret Wolff, and two brothers, Junior McEntire and Claude McEntire.
It is impossible to capture the love, laughter and the adventures that are the dash between his years. He was an incredible man and we will honor what he taught us and the legacy he built.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, July 9 th at 12:00PM at the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
