Kenneth "Bob" Michell

Kenneth "Bob" Michell, age 78, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. Born on March 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Rosemary (Gillman) Michell. He was a graduate of Bishop Luers High School. Bob honorably served his country as a fuel specialist for 6 years in the Indiana Air National Guard. He worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 30 years until his retirement. Bob also worked at Rogers Market in Fort Wayne. On May 9, 1970, he married Jane (Trautman). They spent the next 55 years together building their life in Fort Wayne and watching their family grow.

Bob was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and was an active volunteer for many years with Allen County 4H. He enjoyed being outdoors and his favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and sport shooting. Bob loved his animals, including horses and dogs. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Bob will be remembered as an extremely kindhearted person who never met a stranger.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane Michell; daughter, Sarah (Earl) Ealey; son, Adam (Julie) Michell; grandchildren, Clay, Gavin, and Elaine; sister, Jeanne (Gary) Minnich; brother, Jim (Ann) Michell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Madison Grace Ealey; grandchild, baby Ealey; his parents; and sisters, Judi Richards and Jayne Minnich.

A Mass of Christian Bural will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder, IN 46798 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with a Rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Memorials can be written to St. Aloysius Catholic Church or to the Allen County 4H (extension.purdue.edu/allen) in Bob's name.
