KENNETH NELSEN 04/01/1934 - 11/18/2025 Kenneth Nelsen of Dawson passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 91. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Johnson Memorial Care Center Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Kenneth Joseph Nelsen was born April 1, 1934, in New Ulm to Alfred and Adeline (Schons) Nelsen. He was baptized into the Catholic faith and attended country school in Clements. In 1957, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. He was a proud member of the Redwood Falls American Legion. Kenneth enjoyed his time helping in the field as a farmhand. He also enjoyed playing cards, tending to his garden, and woodworking - crafting many pieces that he shared with others. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Dale) Banken; grandchildren, Joseph (Jamie) Banken and their children Rhyker and Emma, Amy (Kraig) Prisinger and their children Ariana, Koby, and Aspen and Andrew (Shelby) Banken and their children Rupert and Hazel; brother, Edward (Arlene) Nelsen; sister-in-law, Lorna Nelsen; step-children, Julie (Rick) Stiklestad and family, and Jerry Schueller (special friend, Mary); and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Joan (John) Fohl, Joseph (Rose) Nelsen, Patricia (Tom) Schmid, Robert Nelsen, and Alfred Nelsen Jr. Blessed be his memory.
