Kenneth James Nikle

Kenneth J. Nikle, of Highlands Ranch, CO quietly passed away on December 10, 2022. He was born in Grand Forks, ND on June 13, 1936 to Joseph and Elizabeth Nikle, the second to last of nine children.
Ken is survived by his wife of 63 years, Walterine, daughters Janelle Bruhn (Bob) and Julianne Raedeke (Richard, deceased), and granddaughters Megan Bruhn, Nicole Bruhn, Allison Bruhn and Anna Raedeke. He is also survived by siblings Joyce Anderson, Vancouver, WA, Clarence Nikle (Joann) Grand Forks, ND and Carol Moran, Detroit Lakes, MN.
Ken grew up in Grand Forks, ND. He proudly put himself through college while working and starting a family, ultimately earning a BSBA degree in accounting from the University of North Dakota in 1960.
He moved with his family of four to Lincoln, NE for a job opportunity, eventually settling in Littleton, CO in 1965. He worked as an accountant for a variety of small and large companies, retiring in 1998.
Ken had a love for yard-work, and continued it long after he needed to, even though his neighborhood community provided that service. He was the happiest spending time puttering outdoors or enjoying time on his deck.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude's Hospital or St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Service will be held at Olinger Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd. on December 22 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception afterwards.
