Kenneth Richard Nowak
Kenneth "Ken" Richard Nowak, age 66, passed away on February 6, 2023 at his home in
Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a beloved Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle, Neighbor and Friend.
Ken was born in Grayling, Michigan on Christmas Day, 1956 to Richard and Dorothy Nowak. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School, graduating in 1975. After graduating, he moved to
Tulsa, Oklahoma and became the father of his two children, Amanda Reeves & Alex Nowak. He then began his own Company, Ken's Painting, which he continued to own and operate until his passing.
Ken enjoyed 70's rock and attended many, many concerts in his youth. He had a deep and devoted love for the Detroit Lions. More than anything however, he loved his family and was a constant form of love, devotion, and dependability to all of them. He attended countless children's sporting events or choir performances, watching quietly on the sidelines with his arms crossed, steady and strong, like a pillar of strength and support. He would happily attend any and all birthday parties, holiday celebrations, and everything in between. He taught his children and grandchildren the quiet joy that is to be found in a simple game of Yahtzee or Old Maid, and never held back the laughter that came with these times together. He enjoyed being at home, working on projects and watching sports, and was said to have the greenest grass on the street at times. He lived his life exactly how he wanted to live. He loved God, was debt free, donated to charity generously and to people who needed help, enjoyed what he did for a living, and loved spending time with family.
Ken's faith was strong and he was an example to many of what God's love is. He prayed earnestly, read and studied his bible faithfully, and even if he wasn't attending a church every weekend, you could find him watching church on television. He was baptized in the catholic church as a child, but was re-baptized as an adult at Church on the Move, as it was important to him to have a personal relationship with the Lord. He was quiet in his faith, but was a man of God and exemplified the fruits of the Spirit to those who knew him.
Ken is survived by his two children, Alex Nowak & Amanda Reeves, two sisters, Kelly Fox & Sue Sides, his eight grandchildren, Samantha Nibbelink, Caleb Nibbelink, Gabriel Nowak, Collin Reeves, Madalyn Nowak, Lyanna Reeves, Ryland Nowak, & Erickson Reeves.
He was preceded in death by his Father Richard Nowak, Mother Dorothy Nowak, Brother Pat Nowak, and Nephew Benjamin Sides.
There will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony, held on February 25, 2023 at 1pm at Regency Park Church of the Nazarene in
Tulsa, OK.
