Age 89, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024. Ken was born in Lewiston, Maine on January 3, 1935, the son of the late Perley and Cora (Blanchard) Oldham. He graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn, ME and attended Maine Maritime Academy. Ken served his country honorably in the United States Navy and was discharged as a commissioned officer. He was employed for many years at Travelers Insurance Company. Ken was very active in Boy Scouts of America during his youth and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a long-time member of Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church in Bloomington, Minnesota and most recently a member of Texas Corners Bible Church. On December 1, 1956, Ken married the former Marylyn Ruth Chase, who preceded him in death on July 30, 2011. Besides his wife and parents, Ken was preceded in death by his beloved step-father, Ernest Packard; three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Fennell; son, Thomas (Kelly) Oldham; grandchildren, Allison Fennell, Kevin (Dr. Ryan Gershenson) Fennell, Dr. Brian Fennell, Kathryn (Ryan) DeNooyer and Jennifer (Kenny) Osbeck; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Teddy DeNooyer and Joey and Emma Osbeck. A memorial service to celebrate his life and honor his faith will take place on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions in Ken’s memory may be made to Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries.
