Kenneth (Kenny) Harold Payne, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on December 19, 2025, in Nashville, TN, at the age of 69. Born on July 5, 1956, in Sparta, TN, Kenny was known for his warm heart and kind spirit, qualities that endeared him to all who crossed his path.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margie Payne, who remained a cherished part of his life until her passing. Kenny was also preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Melvie Payne, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that guided him throughout his life.
Kenny is survived by his daughter, Amanda (Mark) Poe, who was a source of pride and joy for him. As a devoted grandfather, he cherished his time with his grandchildren, Jasmine Poe, Brooklyn Poe, and Mason Poe, who brought him endless happiness and laughter. His siblings, Tony Payne and Judy Sullivan, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, continue to honor his memory and carry forward the legacy of love and kindness that he fostered.
A visitation will take place on December 27, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Thurman Funeral Home, located at 44 N Main St, Sparta, TN 38583. This will be followed by a funeral service starting at 1:00 PM, allowing family and friends to gather in remembrance of Kenny’s remarkable life.
Kenny will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories of time spent with him.
