Kenneth Persons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams Dingmann Funeral Homes - Sauk Rapids on Feb. 5, 2025.
Kenneth "Ken" Persons, age 84, passed away peacefully Friday, January 31, 2025 surrounded by his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.
Ken was born February 11, 1940 in Minneapolis to Leroy and Mary (Marushin) Persons. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force as part of the Strategic Air Command. Ken married Zdislawa Simianko on June 11, 1966. He worked as a U.S. Government Contractor. Ken enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Minnesota Twins, Wild, Timberwolves, and Vikings, (but only when they were winning). His hobbies also included watching birds, painting birdhouses, growing flowers and trees, ice fishing, and yardwork. Throughout the years he was fond of raising angelfish and Tibetan terriers. Ken was a loving father who enjoyed taking his youngest daughter for car rides and ended every night singing songs with her. He had a sweet tooth and especially loved Jelly Belly jelly beans. Ken gave great advice, was a good storyteller, and always knew the right thing to say.
Survivors include his wife, Zdislawa of St. Cloud; daughters, Carolyn (Matt) Bertsch of Sartell, Natalie (Travis Blotsky) Persons of New Orleans, LA, and Allie Persons of St. Cloud; siblings, Susan (Ron) Rogers of Tubac, AZ and Gary (Candy) Persons of Champlin; godson, Steven (LaRae) Rogers of Delano; and grandchildren, Alexander, Madelyn, and Adam Bertsch. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Johnny (Geraldine), Dennis, James (Carol), and Tom Persons; and sisters, Maryann (Greg) Bownik and Bernice (Val) Mus.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
