Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brandon Cremation & Funeral Services from Aug. 17 to Aug. 18, 2024.
Kenneth Poland Jr, a proud veteran of the Navy, passed away on Friday August 9, 2024, at Melech Hospice House.

Kenneth grew up in Granada Hills, California to the late Kenneth and June Poland. He was born August 11, 1948, and attended school in Granada Hills.

At the age of nineteen, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Navy. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Seaman. As part of his service, Kenneth served in the Vietnam War being awarded the National Defense Service Medal accompanied by a Vietnam Service Medal with a bronze star and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal with device.

He was dedicated to his work of thirty-two years working with the Los Angeles Unified School District as a HVAC mechanic. Kenneth received numerous achievements and recognitions for his continued dedication within the school district, where he retired in 2014.

Kenneth is survived by his amazing wife Kathy Poland of forty-two years. Kenneth and Kathy had three beautiful daughters Hailey Poland, Erica D'Acierno and Ashley Poland along with four grandchildren, Aiden, Jace, Isabella and Connor. His loved ones will remember him by his contagious laugh, patience, unexpected humor and the fashion shows his daughters put on for him. Some of Kenneths hobbies were gold mining, fishing, shooting and camping. He will be dearly missed and remembered always by his loved ones and friends.

A service honoring the life of Kenneth will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on Thursday August 22, 2024, at 2:00 pm.

I was Ken's supervisor at TRE Electromask Woodland Hills Ca. for about 2-3 years. A fantastic worker and super dependable. I lost track of him when he left to go to work for LASD and I moved out of state for many years. I liked Ken and enjoyed knowing him and wish I had known he was still around when I returned back to California in 2011, I would have loved to talked with him again. So sorry for your loss. Please contact me if you can 937-901-3079 Paul
