Kenneth George Riddle, 89, of Sudbury, MA, passed away on Tuesday January 14th, 2025.
Kenneth, a beloved husband and father, was born in Houghton, Michigan. He and his wife Joanne lived in Davenport, Iowa; Minnetonka, Minnesota; Ridgefield, Connecticut; Poultney, Vermont; Haines City, Florida; Falmouth, Maine; and Sudbury, Massachusetts. They were active members of the Weston United Methodist Church and participated in bible study groups.
Kenneth earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University, earned a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Iowa, and was a member of the United States Navy Reserve from 1954 to 1961.
Kenneth was a successful aerospace engineer and business executive. While at Honeywell, he worked on the Space Shuttle Engine Controller Program and was awarded a flag that was flown aboard Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-1) on April 12-14, 1981, in recognition of his significant contribution to the mission. He was also a cycling enthusiast and car enthusiast and loved the outdoors.
Kenneth and his wife Joanne loved spending time with their family and grandchildren at their vacation home on Lake St. Catherine, Vermont, and hosting family holiday get-togethers.
Kenneth is survived by his five sons, Kenneth of Harvard, MA; David of Plymouth, MA; Thomas, of Minneapolis, MN; Jeffrey of Falmouth, ME; and Robert of Marlborough, MA, as well as ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is pre-deceased by his wife Joanne, his Aunt Eva, who cared for him after the passing of his mother, and his parents Bessie and George.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Kenneth for visiting hours on Friday, January 31st, 2025, from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM at Concord Funeral Home, 74 Belknap Street, Concord, Massachusetts. His funeral service and burial will be private.
